Enjoy the beautiful décor of the vast Cathedral Floor before climbing to the famous Whispering Gallery with its unique acoustics. Continue to the Stone or Golden Galleries on top of the Dome for breathtaking panoramic views across London.
The Crypt is the resting place for famous Britons such as Lord Admiral Nelson, the Duke of Wellington, and the cathedral’s architect – Sir Christopher Wren.

St Paul’s Cathedral is a working church and special services or events may sometimes close all or part of the Cathedral. We aim to give you as much notice as possible of any changes to our sightseeing opening hours and on a monthly basis distribute a list of any changes for the forthcoming 6 months.
The Galleries can be accessed by stairs only. There are a total of 257 steps up to the Whispering Gallery, 376 steps up to the Stone Gallery and 528 steps (total) to the Golden Gallery. We recommend that those with pre-existing medical conditions, mobility difficulties or concerns with heights and confined spaces do not try to climb these stairs. The Galleries can close also at short notice due to adverse weather.
- Respectful non-flash photography for personal use inside the Cathedral is welcomed outside service times. Filming, tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are not permitted.
- Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult aged 18 or over when accessing the Dome Galleries.
- No bags or items larger than 45cm x 30cm x 25cm, including handles, wheels and pockets may be brought into the Cathedral. There is no cloakroom facility. Bags may be searched on entry
